With so many exercises and different ways to practice to improve your game, you could easily get confused and frustrated trying to compile a perfect practice plan. Some of the most important parts I always with all my private basketball customers have stressed, whether they are beginners or NBA veteran, is to try and train smarter and simply trickier.
An important component that you should consider when trying to design a basketball improvement system is the leverage of your time wisely and working in the areas that are most important to you and your game are. as an example to use one, are you a point guard, is your most important task to be able to handle the rock under control and pressure control of the pace of the game, make sure that all your teammates do their job properly and your coaches at the General Court.
Why it would be great if you're a big trampoline, it is not something that you should spend a lot of time practicing. The majority of your time practicing and improvement of the areas most needed, you have to focus. Try not to get caught up in trying to work on any aspect of basketball, there just isn't enough time to work on every thing in a practice.
I have outlined a practice that I use for all my Pro customers training, they are very effective and efficient time planning. The practice will last approximately 1 hour and will begin with a sports warm-up.Sport Warm Up (15 minutes) it is very essential that you participate in an active warm-up that will prepare you a powerful work out ahead. the days of static stretching as a team are long gone, due to the fact that you want to prepare your self move, run, and explosive eruption, you want to prepare your body to certain movements and game situations. normally, I have all my players 4 to 5 time running around the Court at about 50%, and then follow that with 4 right half layups of both right and left side then, we have 3 full Court layups on each side, left and right. And we're going to two ball dribbling, full Court and back 3 times, ball two alternating dribble full Court and back, 3 times, and then finish with a couple of dynamic warm-up pieces to improve mobility, stability and flexibility of certain muscle groups.
Basketball conditioning (10 minutes)
I always like to jump right into some conditioning exercises like my players perform better when we get conditioning done at the beginning of practice. Many practices, exercise or exercises will change and vary, but the principles remain the same. I compile usually 6 conditioning exercises that we only once, but at 100% intensity will carry. I will then give them a 30-45 second break and then move onto the next conditioning drill. We do not perform the drilling for number of repetitions, but rather for a duration of time. usually takes 30-45 seconds. Hare is a sample Conditioning training:
Exercise # 1 suicide (30 seconds)
Rest (45seconds)
Exercise # 2 (machine guns while a basketball dribbling) 30 seconds
Rest (45 seconds)
Exercise of # 3 basketball Pushups with a basketball (20 seconds on each side)
Rest (45 seconds)
Exercise of # 4 Full Court Defensive slides (35 seconds)
Rest (45 seconds)
Practice # 5 NET or edge (30 seconds)
Rest (45 seconds)
Exercise # 6 Push Up (45 seconds)
Rest is up to 10 minutes
As you can see, if you your workouts and practices correctly structuring, you can create a very effective practice in a short period of time. the following 10 minutes will only focus on shooting. I have a simple rule when trying to your shooting.Think of the 5 most common shots and area that you're probably working on which to shoot 5 shots in a game the most. It's almost a waste of time, are you a centre trying to improve your 3 point shooting.Once you have your 5 most common pictures have figured out, spend 2 minutes each doing and get up as many shots as you're in that 2 minutes of this specific places can. you will be surprised when you start working on only a few shoots how much more you will improve compared with trying to shoot from every where. After you finish on your shooting, you will then the following 10 minutes on ball handling reservation. There are millions of exercises that will enhance your ball-handling skills and you can ever which ones you want, but these rules to follow when you do this.
1. try not to ever look down on the ball.
2. try your hardest not to mess up.
3. cover so much running and motion as you can.
4. When you have mastered a drill, do not continue to do the same drill,
proceed to a more challenging drill.
5. try to take as much as possible, if 2 ball dribbling drills, multitasking
The more you can do at the same time the better.
These rules and you'll see a dramatic improvement in your about all game.
Now that you've gotten from the past that stations, it is now time to move on to the most important aspect of the practice. The last 15 minutes will only be made to work together on your niche, the most important part of your game.
What is your niche?
This is by far the most watched aspect in basketball. a niche is what you do best, it is the only thing that you do great, the thing that separates you form the baller beside you. The one thing you may the team, and what the coach can count on you for. Without a niche, have no identity on the Court. If you look at all of the Kings in the NBA, you'll easily to identify their niche.
Steve Nash-passing
Ben Wallace-rebounding
Dwayne Wade attacks the basket
Mike Miller-shooting
Kobe-Score
And the list goes on ....
Spend the last 15 minutes work and mastering your niche. what it is, whether it's shooting, ball handling, rebounding, defending, scoring, riding in the basket, 3 point shooting, ect ...Work on mastering and improve. I guarantee you that if you use this outline and the structure of your workouts and practices, you'll be more improvement in a couple of weeks then you'd probably have your entire career. improve your game is simple if you do it the right way.
